Story

A dream extractor, Cobb, who steals corporate secrets, is hired by a man to 'incept' an idea into the mind of the CEO of an energy conglomerate. The CEO lies on his deathbed while his son is supposed to take over the reigns of the company post his father's death. Cobb, now an international fugitive, agrees to perform inception on one condition – that he is safely allowed to enter the United States and meet his kids.

Movie Review:

Christopher Nolan might just end up as the most alluring and enigmatic film maker of contemporary cinema. Memento, The Prestige, Dark Knight and now Inception: Nolan's oeuvre is definitely one of the most creative outpourings in commerce and cliche-ridden Hollywood. If you thought Memento teased your mind, try savouring Inception. It will leave you tortured, tormented, ticklish and tantalised with its mindplay. And if you think you can actually unravel this mind-boggler in one go, you're asking for the moon. It will leave you longing for one more dekko to get the picture straight....Too many levels of reality, too many things happening and too innovative an idea!

Movie Review:

What happens when you realize whatever you know and believe in, is nothing but a figment of your imagination? What happens when the difference between surreal and real starts diminishing? What happens when you find yourself stuck in a mental asylum located on a deserted island with no where to go and no one to trust, not even your own instincts!

Oscar winning filmmaker Martin Scorsese reteams with his muse Leonardo DiCaprio in one of the most pulsating and mind-boggling suspense thrillers of all time ‘Shutter Island’.

Two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Chuck Aule (Mark Ruffalo) are summoned to a remote island ‘Shutter Island’, meant for the criminally insane, to investigate the mysterious disappearance of one of the patients who also happens to be a murderer. Dr Cawley (Ben Kingsley) head psychiatrist of the mental asylum lends a helping hand to the two in their investigation.

3. Prometheus

Story

A team of archeologists discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth. This takes them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. Directed by Ridley Scott, the movie stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron in the lead roles.

 Movie Review:

In the beginning there was Prometheus, the titan of Greek mythology who wanted to give equal footing to mankind. In the beginning there was also Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979) – a movie that completely rewrote the alien versus human, woman to be precise, equation. And in the future, 2089, there is Ridley Scott playing Prometheus (the titan) in Prometheus (the movie). How? The director’s quest for scientific knowledge leaves you with ideas and questions unexplained since the birth of humanity: Where do we come from? They made us but who made them? What is our purpose? What happens after we die? Is it okay to discount Darwin’s theory of evolution? So on and so forth, as the scientific exploration vessel named Prometheus takes a group of scientists to a planet away from Earth... where ancient mythology, ancient language, extra terrestrial forms, unusual atmosphere, weird creatures... set the tone for a typical Scott-ian treat. In other words, the special effects are rather cutting edge. There are great sets, good shots, state-of-the art tech and gadgets, battle of the galactic space ships and some jaw-dropping, larger-than-life special effects. Case in point, the automated Cesarean operation where a little alien is pulled out from the human body, while the later is immediately stapled to perfection. Clap!

4.Oblivion

Story

From the director of `TRON: Legacy` and the producer of `Rise of the Planet of the Apes`. In a spectacular future, Earth has evolved beyond recognition, one man`s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack`s mission is nearly complete.

Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

Movie Review:

Assisting Jack is Vika (Andrea Riseborough) who monitors his activities and sends help. The two hope to emigrate the humans left on earth to Titan (Saturn's moon) for mankind to survive. However, random memory flashes of a woman (Olga Kurylenko) in pre-war New York leave Jack pondering his past.

Oblivion is not your video game-esque, fast-paced sci-fi action film which offers cheap thrills. It's a profound, cerebral drama which focuses on Jack's inner journey and his relentless search for identity.

It stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a U.S. Army captain who is sent into a computed reality to find a bomber. Michelle MonaghanVera Farmiga, and Jeffrey Wright play supporting roles. The film had its world premiere on March 11, 2011 at South by Southwest, and was released by Summit Entertainment on April 1, 2011 in North America and Europe.

Movie Review:

Hollywood is increasingly entering interesting territory, exploring the frontiers to which the human mind can actually grow.... The quest for man's metamorphosis into superman has always been the stuff of comic book fantasy. But now, there is a whole new genre of cinema which is serenading man as superman, albeit with a scientific edge. No cape and costume fantasy needed here; just some tantalizing hypothesis about the limitless expanse of the human mind, and bingo! You and I can be invincible, immortal world saviours. Terrific thesis, isn't it?
